PreK Press
November 7 - December 12
Reading Buddies Feast: Our yearly tradition of having a Mini-Thanksgiving feast with Reading Buddies was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who so generously contributed food, drinks, and paper goods. We appreciate your willingness to help and provide for this special occasion. Full tummies, group hugs, and huge smiles all around. What could be better?
Celebration of Learning: BRIDGES: Thank you everyone for attending our celebration of learning! We were so impressed with the job the PreKers did showing you around, finding all the different displays and checking all the items off of the list! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
December Holidays: There is something about December that makes the time seem to fly by even faster than usual, and this is especially true since Thanksgiving came so late this year. We will be spending time in class talking about some December holidays and traditions. The children will be busy with related activities, seasonal decorations, and projects. Be sure to check out the classroom to see some of their work.
Holiday Program: Please read the page attached to the end of this newsletter for specific and important information about the upcoming December 19th Holiday Program.
Lord & Lady of Levity Proclamation: You will soon be seeing an official proclamation from the Middle School Lord & Lady of Levity. Please note that we adjust this schedule for PreKers. Here is the specific information you need to know:
Monday 12/15 Pajama Day - Please make sure your children will be warm enough throughout the day. They need to be able to go to the bathroom independently and be ready to go outside just by putting their coat on. If they wear slippers, they need to be able to change into their shoes independently as well.
Tuesday 12/16 Superhero Day - We try to downplay this as much as possible. Therefore we ask that you refrain from having your child wear any type of superhero costume but a superhero shirt is acceptable.
Wednesday 12/17 Animal Day - Bring your favorite animal (stuffed or otherwise) to school. Animal related clothing is optional.
Thursday 12/18 Crazy Day - Wear crazy colored clothing, mix and match,
solids, stripes, patterns - have fun with it!
Friday 12/19 DRESS UP FOR THE HOLIDAY PROGRAM
Reading Buddy Gifts: The PreKers and Fourth Graders will share some special time together before the holidays. We realize that while there are some strong friendships between buddies, but we ask that you please do not bring any gifts to school for Reading Buddies. The PreKers will be making cards for them as a way to extend their greetings and we feel that is enough. We also do not want any hurt feelings that come about as a result of some children receiving gifts and others not receiving any. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
Box Tops for Education: We continue to collect these in the container located outside our classroom on the small table. Thanks for your help.
